Brilliq: Memory Card Game

Turn on Wild Variants and stop playing on autopilot

Coming soon

The board fights back when you ask it to

Late in a game with all three Wild Variants on, the board just reshuffled, your half-second glimpse is over, and the cards you remember have turned. You know there’s a match somewhere. Finding it is entirely your problem.

Three Wild Variants, any combination

Rotating Cards turns each unmatched card by a random angle when it flips back. Blind Mode shows a card for half a second: tap the matching card before the window closes, or the pair stays hidden. Shifting Board reshuffles all unmatched cards on a timer and warns you first. Turn on any mix in setup, at any board size.

An AI that plays by the same rules

Pick Easy, Medium, or Hard, then watch the AI play its turns. It never peeks at face-down cards, so any edge it has comes from a better memory.

Nine motif sets

Choose from Sports, Space, Animals, Buildings, Fantasy & Dragons, Fly & Drive, Garden, Princess & Knights, and Technic. Play one set, or mix several on one grid.

Three board sizes, adjustable speed

Play on a 4×4, 6×6, or 8×8 grid. Set the flip-back speed to Slow, Normal, or Fast, and turn on a timer to race the clock. Your settings carry over to the next session.

Take turns on the same device

Two players pass the phone, and the board can stay hidden between turns. It has no online play and needs no account.

The app tracks your best time and average moves for each board size and set of Wild Variants, so you have a number to beat.

Works with VoiceOver and TalkBack

Brilliq supports VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android. You can reduce motion, and matches and misses never rely on color alone. The app meets WCAG 2.1 AA. Young or old, play in English, German, or French.

How much does it cost?

Brilliq is free to download. So are all Wild Variants and motif sets. Ads only appear between games, never mid-turn. An optional purchase to remove ads is planned but not available yet.

Are there levels or things to unlock?

No, and no in-game currency. You set the board, pick your Wild Variants, and play.

How do I learn to play?

An interactive tutorial runs on first launch and walks you through the game. You can replay it any time from Settings.

  • A 6×6 game with rotating cards and blind mode. Four pairs are matched, and an orange glow warns the board is about to shift.
  • In a 6×6 game, the AI's score lights up on its turn. It has just turned up a rover card, and both sides have two pairs.
  • Garden, Space and Sports are selected on the Theme & Motifs screen. A note says they're mixed on one board.
  • The Game Setup screen shows Rotating Cards, Blind Mode and Shifting Board switched on. Below, the shift interval is 15 seconds; it can also be 10 or 25.
  • The 6×6 statistics show a best time of 2:22 and an average of 33 moves. Variant Records lists 3:34 in 47 moves with all three variants and 3:01 in 39 with Rotating Cards alone.
  • A plain screen hides the board between turns. It says "Pass the phone to Anna," shows her two pairs and offers an "I'm Ready" button.
